A clip from the short film “Life’s A Bitch, And Then You’re Dead.,” written & directed by Bryce Holland, produced by Nick Tankersley & Bryce Holland.
Jake thought life was tough, but death is proving to be even more complicated. He’s become a zombie, and while others of his kind are looking for the next thing to eat, he’s looking for the one girl he can’t seem to get off his mind. As he traverses a now unfamiliar landscape in search of the woman he loves, he reflects on what his life was and tries to come to terms with what he has become. In the end, he comes to an emotional crossroads that could affect the rest of his death.
Indiedemand Film Festival September 2013 Selection Trailer (by Indiedemand)
My latest short film, “Life’s A Bitch…And Then You’re Dead,” is an official selection in the September 2013 Indiedemand Film Festival! Starting on Sept 7, go to indiedemand.com and vote for it as the best film of the month!
This is a documentary that I and my good friend and colleague, Mike Hillerby, made over the course of a few years starting in 2009. We’ve been sitting on it for awhile now, but I think it’s time for the world to see.
Honobia is a small town in the mountains of southeast Oklahoma, and the residents there have created an economy based around the most famous mythological creature to ever possibly exist.
A fantastic look at one of my all time favorite filmmakers, written by a rather talented British writer, posted on BrutalAsHell.com, the best fucking horror site on the planet! What more could you ask for?
I think that’s the thing I love most about the Czech Republic: all the “Czech/check” puns. If only I was headed to Turkey…*sigh*…
Anyway, tomorrow starts a rather new adventure for me as I venture my rotund ass off the couch and jet off to the Czech Republic for month to study writing in Prague. I just wish there was some way to make that last sentence sound more pretentious.
I rarely leave the confines out of my house, and I’ve basically never left the country (I did get married in Jamaica, but I never really left the resort so it may as well have been any beach front hotel in America), so this is pretty big deal for me. I’ve realized over the last year or so that I may be many things, but a director/proper filmmaker is really not one of them. Writing is really where my heart lies, and I think it’s the one aspect of filmmaking that I’m pretty decent at. It’s the only aspect where the “work” part of it really just involves making shit up, and if you know me you know I’m pretty full of shit that I’m just waiting to spew out into the world.
I’m gonna try and update this thing as much as I can while I’m overseas, and hopefully include some videos and such. Stay tuned to hear more of my adventures as Bryce Holland Does it Czech Style!
Typically I’m on the directing end of films, but for once I got to step in front of the camera for my good friend Nick Tankersley’s short film, The Card Game. I think it’s pretty fuckin’ great. You should, too.
